The Hospitality of Adoption
With Joann Terranova, Sister Raphaela & JT Batsone
January 19, 2019
An exploration of the spiritual practice of hospitality for people who’s lives have been touched by the experience of adoption. Drawing on James Gritter’s book Hospitous Adoption as a resource, we will explore attitudes and skills related to the practice of hospitality and how they might inform our experience of adoption.

The facilitators for the day have life experience from each corner of the adoption triangle.  JT Batsone placed a child for adoption, Sister Raphaela was placed for adoption as an infant, and Joann Terranova received 2 sons into her family through adoption. In addition each has a connection with Benedictine spirituality and the value of hospitality
