With Monika Ellis, OSB
September 2 - 16, 2026
Autumn
In this series of 3 classes Sister Monika will present a variety of patterns relating to the autumn season. Each session you go away with a beautiful image. And if you say, “I don’t have talent”, you just might be surprised! Come and experience a morning of creativity. Bring a friend!
Zoom only
Wednesdays in September
10:00–11:30 a.m.
- September 2
- September 9
- September 16
Sister Monika has a daily Zentangle practice, creating images that may be fanciful, abstract, or representational. Zentangle is a relaxing art form that uses slow, deliberate strokes of a fine-tipped black pen on white paper. Because the artwork is typically created on a 3½” × 3½” cardstock tile, each stroke is short and intentional. You’ll be amazed at the beauty that emerges from your own hand! Whether you’re new to Zentangle or have been practicing for years, Sister Monika looks forward to helping you begin or continue your creative journey.
Supplies Needed
- Fine-tipped black felt pen
- Regular pencil
- Tortillon (blending stump)
If you don’t have a tortillon, don’t worry—you can still participate and observe how it’s used to blend graphite. Tortillons are available at most art supply stores, including Hobby Lobby and Michaels.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me at sr.monika.osb@stplacid.org or at 360 438 1771.
Bring your enthusiasm, too.
